About Wesleyville

The Borough of Wesleyville is a small, urban community in Erie County bordered by the City of Erie, Harborcreek Township and Lawrence Park Township. With a population of 3,341, the Borough features all of the comforts of a small town with Pennsylvania’s 4th largest city right next door.

Comprising approximately 1 square mile, with about 10 miles of roads, the Borough has easy access to Interstate 90 via Station Rd/SR 430 and to the City of Erie and the nearby Harborcreek Shopping District via Buffalo Rd/US 20. The Erie GE plant, one of the region’s largest employers, is located on Water Street to our north.

The Borough has several eating and drinking establishments as well as many places of worship for different denominations. Many locally-owned businesses can be found along Buffalo Road and Station Road.

The affordable housing and established neighborhoods of the Borough are perfect for raising a family, with several parks and playgrounds available for recreation. Rental housing is governed by our Regulated Rental License ordinance which requires registration and inspection of rental units. Educational needs are met by the Iroquois School District, which the Borough shares with neighboring Lawrence Park. Penn State Erie/The Behrend College, is just up Station Rd/SR 430 in Harborcreek.

Public safety is ensured by both our own full-time professional Police Department comprised of a chief, officers, and our volunteer fire department, the Wesleyville Hose Company.

The Borough’s government consists of a 7-member Borough Council and Mayor, all elected to 4-year terms. Borough Council meets at Borough Hall, 3421 Buffalo Road at 6:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and include time for public comment. Day-to-day operations are handled by full-time Borough Staff members.
