Borough Proclamation
On August 6, 2024, Borough Mayor Paul Johnson delivered a proclamation to the Wesleyville American Legion Post 571, recognizing their achievements on behalf of the Wesleyville Borough Council and the citizens of Wesleyville.
At the annual American Legion State Convention in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Post 571 received seven awards, including:
- Post Membership Retention
- Social Media
- Americanism
- Media-Internet
- Norman L. Streicher Award
- Silver Brigade Membership Award – presented to Senior Vice-Commander Frank Hall
- Hospital Volunteer Award – presented to Service Officer Bruce Shoop
- Pennsylvania American Legion Post Commander of the Year – presented to Commander Richard Sambuchino
Mayor Johnson expressed deep gratitude for the significant role Post 571 has played in the civic and community life of Wesleyville. Echoing the words of the National Commander, he stated:
“Thank you, Post 571 family, for your continued dedication and leadership, with your resolve to ‘Be The One’ to help veterans in need.”
In recognition of their outstanding service, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, was officially proclaimed Service Officer Bruce Shoop, Senior Vice-Commander Frank Hall, and Commander Richard Sambuchino Day in the Wesleyville community.
Mayor Johnson urged all citizens to join in honoring their dedication and commitment to the American Legion.
