Rental Registration

The Borough requires all residential rental units to be registered annually. This includes apartments, houses, Airbnbs, rooming houses, fraternities, and similar rental arrangements. A Residential Rental License is required for each unit being rented.

Fee Schedule for Residential Units:

  • On or before February 1: $75.00
  • Between February 2 – February 15: $100.00
  • After February 15: $125.00
  • Within 30 days of sale or transfer: $75.00

Fee Schedule for Rooming Houses, Fraternities, and Airbnb’s:

  • On or before February 1: $125.00
  • Between February 2 – February 15: $175.00
  • After February 15: $200.00
  • Within 30 days of sale or transfer: $125.00

Required Inspection

Rental properties must be inspected once every two years as part of the registration process.

Every other year, the Borough’s designated inspector will conduct an on-site inspection to ensure the property meets safety and habitability standards and complies with all applicable local laws. The inspection assesses the condition of the rental unit, identifies any potential issues, and ensures adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
